Student Blogging Challenge – Week 10

How many posts did you write?
I have 18 posts altogether.

How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?

6 were school based, 6 were in my own interest and 6 were for the student blogging challenge.

How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?

I have 53 comments altogether.  29 of them were classmates,  19 were from my teacher and 10 of them were from overseas.

Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?

My post about the amazing cruise has 12 comments. I think it got so much comments because the post was very long and many exciting things in it.

Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?

I enjoyed writing the amazing cruise because to me it was exiting and fun.

Did you change blog themes at all and why?

Yes I did because my widgets weren’t fitting.

How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?

I have 7 widgets, and I think it’s enough because it’s not over crowded.

How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?

I have no overseas blog rolls because I forgot to add them.

Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?

The web tools I used were pic monkey survey monkey and powtoon.



The Amazing Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a community based shop that was made to help the poor and homeless. The Salvation Army also helps people who are:

  • Those affected by drugs and alcohol addicts
  • Dealing with financial hardship
  • Survivors of family and domestic violence
  • Survivors of suicide
  • Disaster victims
  • The aged
  • Migrants

The Salvation Army is a second hand shop that sells things like clothes and furniture. The Salvation Armys shortened name is SALVOS.  The salvos is a place where poor people can go to buy cheap things while talking to new people and relaxing.


Other charitys related to the Salvation Army are Saint Vincent De Paul and Caritas.

Vincent de Paul.PNG This man is Saint Vincent De Paul himself. The charity was named after him. Also the charity was thought about when he died. The charity was made in his footsteps of helping and caring for others.

 This is the Australian Caritas Logo.


All 3 of these charitys support the homeless, poor and the sick.





My Halloween Poem (Parody of The Night Before Christmas)

It was the night before Halloween, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The pumpkins were by the front door with care,
In hopes that St Jack-O-Lantern soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Baby Ruth’s & Snickers danced in their heads.
And Mom in her Cat Women costume, and I as Batman,
Had just settled our brains well you Know the plan.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the front door the coursers they flew,
With the wagon full of candy, and St Jack-O-Lantern too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the porch
The clanging of chains & the ringing of bells.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Through the front door St Jack-O-Lantern bound.

He was dressed all in orange, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished because of the rain.
A bag full of Candy he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! His dimples how scary!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And 5 crooked teeth was all he could show.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old Jack,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of the fright!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the bags with candy, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, and out the front door he fled!

He sprang to his PumpkinMobile, to his team gave a shout,
And away they all drove like bat out of hell.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good-night!”

Oompa-Loompas Adventure To Mars

Once upon a time there lived an Oompa-loompa called Fred. Fred has been researching space for 100 years. His favourite planet is Mars. Since he was 3 years old he has been making a huge rocket. His life long dream is to visit mars. He had almost finished learning about how to control a rocket. About 3 days before he graduated from university he felt so confident that he could go to Mars. He didn’t tell anyone that he was going because he thought they would try to stop him. Fred put the fuel in the rocket along with a couple of snacks. He put his space suit on and got in the rocket. He pressed a button and the rocket started to count down. 10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! BLAST OFF!!!!!!


Then the rocket launched off except there was a massive explosion! The bottom half of the rocket exploded only leaving 1 thruster left. Also Freds space suit got destroyed.

Student Blogging Challenge Activity 4

Once upon a time there lived a colourful dragon called Fred. He is different from everyone else because he can’t breath fire or fly. One day Fred went to school and started his day normally as he usually would. Fred isn’t very smart so he struggles to get high marks. When it was recess he ate a massive golden duck. After that he went out to play but people wouldn’t include him in their game because Fred wasn’t as cool as them. Fred went and told the teacher but she just said. ”Go and make your own friends”.

Student Blogging Challenge #4

In this post I will be thanking people that are important to me and deserve a big shout-out for what they have done.

Dear Mrs Adams,

You are a really kind and caring person and you are always there when I need help. You let us have fitness in our spare time and let us choose what game we want to play. You are an AMAZING teacher and you plan fun activities for every subject of the day. You try really hard to make everyone feel happy and safe. No matter what subject we are doing at the time you inspire me to try harder even when work is tough.



Dear Mum and Dad,

Both of you are really kind to me even when times are tough. You explain my homework to me if I don’t understand how to do things which helps me out a lot. You are always there when I need you and you help me when I am injured or sick. You let me feed the animals everyday in the afternoon with Michael. You also inspire me to learn more and keep on trying no matter what.



Dear Cody,

You are a really kind friend that is always there when I need help or when times are tough. You are always asking if I want to do a challenge whether its in Numerical Acumen or Skoolbo. You are a competitive person that can be hard to catch up to. + You inspire me to try harder.




The Day I Broke Into My House (Activity 2)

On Sunday the 21st of September 2014 I had to break into my own house because my Dad left the keys at our house in Somerton Park! When we got home my Dad realised that he forgot the keys. My Mum and I were thinking we would have to sleep outside. But luckily my Dad remembered that there was a window that only I could fit through.

My Dad found a screwdriver in the shed and unscrewed the fly screen window. I climbed through the window and rushed to the alarm system to turn them off. When I put the alarm off I had to get the spare keys and give them to my parents.

When I gave the spare keys to my parents they unlocked the front door and came inside. After that I celebrated by going outside and climbing a tree. Then we lived happily ever after.

All About Emmaus Catholic School

Emmaus Catholic School consists of 10 different classes and 251 students. My class is called 4/5 AM which stands for Adams and McNab. (My Teachers)   There are 29 students in our class. (8 girls and 21 boys) People in our class are aged from 9 to 11.

People at Emmaus usually start at reception (5 year olds) and end at year 7 (13 year olds.

Our class can be found in the newest building in our school called the Assisi Building. Which is named after the patron saint, St Francis of Assisi. We are called the ‘Middle Primary’. Here you can find 4 classes – two Year 3/4 classes, our class and a Year 5 class. In this building you can also find the Indonesian room. The language that we learn at our school is Indonesian, because it is a place quite near to us.

Our school is divided up into 3 different areas  Junior Primary (reception to year 2) Middle Primary (year 3 to year 5) and finally Middle School. (year 6 to year 7)
